This device created in 1804 by John Leslie (1766–1832), a Scottish mathematician and physicist is designed to measure or demonstrate emissivity of surface in thermography.
The upper image shows the results in human view and in thermal view of a Leslie's cube demonstrating emissivity variation in thermography.
