Seek, search and rescue are some of the common use of thermography at sea.
Liquid's accumulation into the hull can change the heat capacity then conductivity and is the seekable with a thermacam as evaporation of liquids is causing a cooling of the concerned area one part or sun activity will produced an overheating on the same area due to increased thermal conductivity. This is very usefull when a sale occurs as discovering some hidden damages.
